Position Summary
The NDE Assistant / Trainee supports certified Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) technicians in performing inspections to evaluate the integrity and quality of materials, components, and structures without causing damage. This entry-level role is designed for individuals seeking to build a career in NDE through hands-on training, field experience, and progression toward certification.
Key Responsibilities
Assist certified NDE technicians during inspections using approved NDE methods (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT, VT).
Prepare equipment, materials, and work areas prior to inspections.
Perform basic inspection tasks under direct supervision, in accordance with written procedures and industry codes.
Set up and break down inspection equipment and ensure proper handling and storage.
Accurately document inspection activities, data collection, and results as directed.
Follow all safety policies, site-specific requirements, and regulatory standards at all times.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Travel to job sites as required, including potential overnight or extended travel.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills.
Ability to read and follow written procedures and instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to work in industrial environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
Physically capable of lifting equipment and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass 12 panel drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, inspection, or industrial environments.
Coursework or exposure to NDE, welding, quality control, or engineering disciplines.
Current or previous NDE training hours (per ASNT or equivalent), though not required.
Training & Advancement
On-the-job training provided under certified NDE professionals.

Work Schedule
